As you may have read before, I adore oil paint. But it wasn’t always that way. Prior to my senior year of college, I’d never touched an oil paint before. I learned how to (really) paint in acrylics, and I stuck with it for as long as I could because I knew oil and acrylic had a lot of differences and I didn’t feel up to learning new techniques.
Eventually, one of my professors pretty much forced me to try oil paint, and it was one of the best things he could have done.
I love oil paint and will choose it for just about everything, but there are definitely times when acrylic paint is the better option. Continue reading
